March 5-7, 2010

Ringwood, NJ - January 28, 2010 - The Eleventh Annual Saint Catherine of Bologna Photo, Art and Poetry Exhibition, featuring performances by local musicians will take place at the Parish Center, 112 Erskine Road March 5 (6-11 PM), March 6 (3-11 PM) and 7 (10-4 PM), 2009. Known as “A Little Bit of Soho in Ringwood”, this judged exhibition features over 500 works of art, photographs, sculpture and poetry by artists from the tri-state area.

The Exhibition is open to all professional, amateur and student photographers, artists, poets and sculptors submitting their original works. Silent Auction donations of original pieces or high-quality prints are also graciously accepted. All work is judged by independent artists, writers, sculptors and photographers of local renown. Student works for children in grades K-8 are not judged. Awards are given in the following categories: Photography, Digital Photographic Art, Painting (Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor), Drawing, Mixed Media, Sculpture and Poetry. This year, five Ringwood Awards will be given for artworks that best depict the town's nature and spirit.

Three local artists who passed away this year will be honored in our Memorial Gallery upstairs: Patty deVito, Charlie Albright and Linda Wade Manning. Their families have graciously lent us many pieces of their art for display and/or sale.

“The Exhibition is hosted by Saint Catherine of Bologna Church in honor of Saint Catherine, the Patron Saint of the Arts,” said Exhibit Coordinator David J. Nocera. “In addition to over 500 works of art in the main gallery downstairs at the Parish Center, patrons will be treated to live music, wine and appetizers, coffee and desserts in our open air café. A live poetry reading takes place upstairs in the Poetry Gallery Saturday night, and local musicians donate their time to play for the duration of the show.”

In addition to hundreds of hours from Patron of the Arts Association volunteers, the show has five major sponsors including: Allen Linens, Four Star Color Printing, Goldberg's Famous Bagels of Ringwood, Lightroom Studios, and Taylor Rental.

“Over 80% of the pieces are available for purchase”, reports Sales Coordinator Ken Carroll. Major credit cards are accepted and pieces may be picked up on Sunday March 7 at 4:00 PM.

The Exhibition is held at the Saint Catherine of Bologna Parish Center, 112 Erskine Road, Ringwood, NJ 07456. Exhibit hours are Friday March 5, 6:00-11:00 PM; Saturday March 6, 3:00-11:00 and Sunday March 7, 10:00 AM-4:00 PM.
